Memory Builders remodels and renovates homes in Houston’s finest neighborhoods. We understand older homes and work to balance preservation while updating them for modern use. See below for our featured remodel projects.
Kids Garden
The project's scope involves the interior finishing of a commercial space.
Oxford
The scope for this project was to fully remodel the existing 1328 SF residence built in 1931, and expand with a 1085 SF addition. Due to the historic classification the windows of the existing building were untouched, but some glass had to be replaced with original wavy glass.
Locke Lane
Memory Builders had the opportunity to complete this fun and colorful addition and partial remodel in River Oaks, that consisted of adding a guest bedroom with full bath and parlor to the back of the house. We were able to achieve vibrant spaces full of energy with the use of paint, fabric, and mixing patterns in a sophisticated way.
Ingold
This West University remodel consisted of revamping the kitchen and living spaces by opening up the kitchen to the living area, closing off the stair case opening to the living area, and making cosmetic changes to the cabinetry. The footprint of the kitchen and adjacent breakfast nook remained the same but brightened up with new white quartz countertops, updated cabinet doors, and decorative chrome light fixtures.
Redan
The studio space features French doors that open to the covered outdoor kitchen, painted concrete floors, and a full bathroom with granite countertops. The U-shaped outdoor kitchen has a brick façade with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances.
Wakefield Kitchen
The u-shape space is anchored by dual 8-foot islands, adding a vibrant blue color to the mostly white color palette. The central island serves as counter space for food prep, and the butcher-block stands out from the rest of the quartz countertops.
University
Memory Builders had the opportunity to work on an interior finish out for a family owned and operated boutique in Rice Village. What started out as a home décor shop shifted towards apparel when the owner’s daughter came on board as a buyer.
Yale
Memory Builders worked with Daniel Scott Turner Design on this 1286 SF commercial interior finish out. The franchisee gave us some unique ideas on how to turn this blank canvas into a unique haircut experience for kids and tweens.
6th 1/2 Street
Remodels can have a huge impact on a space and this project was no exception. The L shaped kitchen was designed to open up the space and create open sight lines. Features include a farmhouse sink, two-toned kitchen cabinets, marble countertops, and upgraded stainless-steel appliances.
Lake Port
This 4680 SF home was a full remodel that flooded during Hurricane Harvey. The kitchen cabinet layout was redesigned, and upgrades were made throughout. Features include pre-engineered white oak hardwoods, natural stone countertops, and stainless-steel appliances.
Columbia
The 2000 SF home built in the 1940’s was remodeled so that the kitchen, living, and dining room were more of an open floor plan and all rooms benefited from the tremendous amount of natural light. The garage was also divided into a studio space for the client/interior designer. Features include original hardwood floors, farmhouse sink, white quartz countertops, and stainless-steel appliances.
Windswept
The 2500 SF home is a full remodel that flooded during Hurricane Harvey with a Master Bedroom/Bath and Game Room addition. The exterior front elevation received an update with a new semi-circle driveway.
W 22ND
The scope of this project was a kitchen, living room, and back porch addition. Three large windows in the living room and single window in the adjacent kitchen fill the space with natural light. This, along with the layers of artificial light, highlight the beautiful finishes. Features include reclaimed hardwood floors, farmhouse sink, two-toned kitchen cabinets, white marble countertops, and stainless-steel appliances.
E 12th Street Master Bath
The focal point of the Master Bath is the black cast iron tub with Art Deco crystal chandelier above. The soft white wall color provides the perfect backdrop for this stunning space. Additional features include dual sinks with marble countertops and champagne bronze Delta fixtures, rain head shower faucet, and porcelain tile.
E 12th Street Kitchen
Three large windows fill the kitchen with natural light. This, along with the layers of artificial light, highlight the beautiful finishes. Features include original hardwood floors, two-tone cabinets, farmhouse sink, quartzite countertops, and professional grade stainless steel appliances.
E 12th Street
The scope for this project was to connect three separate buildings built in the 1920’s; two duplex residences and a two-story garage with an apartment into a single residence. We converted the existing 3,065 SF building into 4,212 SF by demolishing the middle garage and building a new two-story structure in its place, connecting the buildings together.
E Rivercrest
Designed to be an extension of the home, the 858 SF modern outdoor kitchen was built along the exterior side of the garage next to the existing pool. The trim, door hardware, and paint/stain selections were all used within the existing home and brought outside to this space to create a consistent look and feel.
